EXCERCISE OF PUBLIC RIGHTS

On behalf of White Colne Parish Council, I confirm that the dates set for the period for the exercise of public rights are as follows:

Commencing on Monday 3 June 2024

and ending on Friday 12 July 2024

Signed:         Petra Palfreyman

Role: Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer

Each year the Council's Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) needs to be reviewed by an external auditor appointed by Smaller Authorities’ Audit Appointments Ltd.  The unaudited AGAR has been published with this notice. As it has yet to be reviewed by the appointed auditor, it is subject to change as a result of that review.

Any person interested has the right to inspect and make copies of the accounting records for the financial year to which the audit relates and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, receipts and other documents relating to those records must be made available for inspection by any person interested. For the year ended 31 March 2024, these documents will be available on reasonable notice by application to: Jim Morris, Parish Clerk & RFO

PARISH CLERK

Jim Morris, our new Parish Clerk & RFO will be starting on 1 June 2024.  Jim comes with a wealth of experience as a clerk and we look forward to welcoming him to the Council.

VERGE CUTTING SCHEDULE IN OUR DISTRICT

Braintree District Council works in partnership with Essex County Council to ensure that the rural highway verges across the district are cut annually. The schedule for this autumn can be found here: Autumn 2023 verge cutting schedule – Braintree District Council.

Please note that the cutting schedule is dependent on weather conditions; periods of heavy rainfall mean that our contractor is unable to cut the verges without causing damage. This can put our contractor behind and so the schedule should be used as a guide only.
