Wednesday 1st July - Essex County Council Highways: Stone Bridge, A1124 Halstead Road, Earls Colne

Please be advised that works will be taking place on Stone Bridge on Halstead Road from 9 July and continue throughout the financial year.

To minimise disruption and avoid a lengthy diversion route, the bridge will be rebuilt in three key phases. This approach will allow traffic to continue using the A1124 for most of the construction period. The speed of the traffic along this stretch of the road will be reduced to 30mph for the duration of the works.

A temporary pedestrian footpath and footbridge will be installed to maintain access between the two Public Rights of Way in the area. This temporary route will run around the outside of the working area and will be clearly signposted.

Please be aware that a small number of road closures will be required when certain activities make it unsafe for traffic to use the bridge. These closures will be kept to a minimum, and dates will be shared as soon as they are confirmed.
